Program Overview: The Nevada
Rural Hospital Partners Community Paramedicine Program serves patients with chronic conditions who
frequently visit the emergency department (ED). Patients are enrolled in the program under a specialized
care plan determined by their primary care provider with the goal of reducing their ED visits and hospital
readmissions.
The program provides patients with biometric health screening devices that record blood pressure, blood oxygen, weight, and activity remotely through a Bluetooth system. The system records these data points in the patient's health record, allowing healthcare providers to monitor the patient’s health and follow up if the data indicate a change in status. The program accepts all types of insurance but primarily receives reimbursement from Nevada Medicaid.
In 2021, Nevada Rural Hospital Partners launched a Mobile MRI system servicing four hospitals across the state. The Mobile MRI system brings high-quality imaging and diagnostic care to rural and remote Nevada communities, serving residents who would otherwise need to travel long distances to receive MRI scans.
