The funding is designed to serve as a critical first step to creating SUD service systems that make care easy to access, strengthen the behavioral health workforce, gain strong community support, and prepare communities to deliver prevention, treatment, recovery, and other supportive services over the long term.

Illinois Community Behavioral Health Care Professional Loan Repayment Program
Loan repayment assistance for qualified mental health and substance use professionals who agree to practice in rural areas in Illinois.

Veterans Affairs Specialty Education Loan Repayment Program (SELRP)
Loan repayment assistance for recent graduates of an accredited medical or osteopathic school who are currently enrolled or matched to a residency specialty identified as a shortage by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. A minimum service obligation of 24 months is required.

Rural Health Agriculture Family-Friendly Training and Designation (AFTD)
A training program designed to address healthcare access among agricultural and rural families. The program educates healthcare professionals about the challenges rural populations and farm families often face, such as limited access to healthcare; stressors, including weather, market fluctuations, and labor shortages; and how to address them.

New Hampshire J-1 Visa Waiver Program
Offers a J-1 Visa waiver to foreign physicians who commit to serving for 3 years in an eligible area of New Hampshire, allowing them to remain in the United States.
