Leading Equity and Diversity in the Medical Scientist Training Program (LEAD MSTP)
Funding for eligible institutions to develop and implement effective, evidence-informed approaches to fully integrate the transitional phases of dual-degree training and mentoring that will lead to the completion of both clinical degrees and research doctorate degrees. Eligibility is limited to dual-degree training programs at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs), and institutions within Institutional Development Award (IDeA)-eligible states.

Tribal Institutional Review Board Establishment and Enhancement (TIRBEE) (R24 - Clinical Trial Not Allowed)
Funding to support federally recognized American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) Tribes, Tribal colleges and universities, Tribal health programs, or Tribal organizations (collectively, eligible Tribal entities) to establish Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) or enhance the capacity of existing Tribal IRBs.

Understanding the Intersection of Social Inequities to Optimize Health and Reduce Health Disparities: The Axes Initiative (R01 Clinical Trial Optional)
Funding for research to examine the pathways through which social determinants of health (SDOH), and related biological, psychological, and behavioral factors impact health and health disparities. The primary populations of focus are those that experience health disparities in the U.S., including racial and ethnic minority populations, people with lower socioeconomic status, underserved rural populations, sexual and gender minority populations, and people with disabilities.

Strategic Prevention Framework - Partnerships for Success for Communities, Local Governments, Universities, Colleges, and Tribes/Tribal Organizations
Funding to use the SAMHSA Strategic Prevention Framework to expand and strengthen the capacity of local community prevention providers to implement evidence-based prevention programs.

Tribal Behavioral Health Grant Program
Grants for projects designed to prevent suicidal behavior and substance misuse, reduce the impact of trauma, and promote mental health among American Indian/Alaska Native young people up to the age of 24.

New Models of Integrated HIV/AIDS, Addiction, and Primary Care Services (R34 Clinical Trial Optional and R01 Clinical Trial Required)
Grants to support the development and testing of enhanced models of care that integrate HIV, Hepatitis B and C, addiction, and primary care services. Research in states and counties identified in the federal Ending the HIV Epidemic Initiative, including areas with the highest rural HIV burden, are specifically encouraged.

Minnesota Mental Health Cultural Community Continuing Education Grants for Individual Providers
Grants for mental health providers in Minnesota pursuing a course of study, through post-secondary training or continuing education, that is expected to lead to recognition as a board-approved supervisor to individual practitioners pursuing licensure as a mental health professional.

Technology Development to Reduce Health Disparities (R01 Clinical Trial Optional)
Funding to develop and translate medical technologies aimed at reducing disparities in healthcare access and health outcomes. Medical technologies should be effective, affordable, culturally acceptable, and deliverable to those who need them. Priority health disparity populations include racial and ethnic minorities, socioeconomically disadvantaged individuals, sexual and gender minorities, and medically underserved populations in rural and urban areas.

Leveraging Health Information Technology (Health IT) to Address Minority Health and Health Disparities (R01 Clinical Trial Optional)
Grants for research that examines how health information technology adoption impacts minority health and health disparity populations in access to care, quality of care, patient engagement, and health outcomes.

Notice of Special Interest (NOSI): Implementation Science to Advance Maternal Health and Maternal Health Equity for the IMPROVE Initiative
Notice of Special Interest for research to address health disparities associated with pregnancy-related and pregnancy-associated morbidity and mortality. Populations of focus include American Indians, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, other Pacific Islanders, and underserved rural populations, among others.
