Medical Student Education Program
Grants for public medical schools to expand or support education for medical students preparing to become physicians in states with primary care provider shortages. The program is designed to prepare and encourage medical students who are training in the most underserved states to choose residencies and careers in primary care that serve tribal communities, rural communities, and/or medically underserved communities after they graduate.

Nurse Education, Practice, Quality and Retention (NEPQR) - Workforce Expansion Program (WEP)
Funding to increase the nursing workforce in rural and underserved areas to address the critical shortage of nurses, specifically in acute and long-term care settings. The program aims to enhance nursing education and clinical practice to expand the workforce and improve retention.

Walmart Health Equity Scholarship for Pharmacy Students
Scholarships for Doctor of Pharmacy degree students who are enrolled in a U.S. college or school of pharmacy. Awardees must demonstrate leadership, academic success, and a commitment to serving rural or medically underserved patient populations.

Maryland Dent-Care Loan Assistance Repayment Program
Loan repayment assistance for dentists and dental hygienists in Maryland who provide care to vulnerable populations in the state, including Maryland Medical Assistance Program recipients.

Maine Care for the Underserved Pathways AHEC Scholars Program
A multidisciplinary certificate and honors distinction program for health professions students in Maine that offers opportunities for hands-on training, experience in rural and underserved communities, and networking with other students and professionals.

Montana Rural Physician Incentive Program (MRPIP)
Loan repayment assistance for physicians who agree to practice in underserved areas of Montana.

Nurturing Hope Scholarship for Aspiring Mental Health Professionals in Washington
Scholarship to support aspiring mental health professionals with lived experience in Washington.

Tennessee Rural Health Awards
Honorary awards for programs and people who are working to improve rural health in Tennessee.

CDC Rural Public Health Communications Fellow
Training opportunity that will support health marketing, communication activities, and health communication research in a rural health priority area that may include considerations for tribal populations. The fellowship will take place in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Office of Rural Health in Atlanta, Georgia beginning September, 2024.

Technology-Enabled Collaborative Learning Program
Funding to evaluate, develop, and, expand the use of technology-enabled collaborative learning and capacity building models for healthcare providers and other professionals. The program is designed to improve retention of healthcare providers and increase access to health care services in rural areas, frontier areas, health professional shortage areas, or medically underserved areas and for medically underserved populations or native Americans.
