Workforce Opportunity for Rural Communities (WORC): Grant Initiative for the Appalachian, Delta, and Northern Border Regions
Grants for projects in the Appalachian, Lower Mississippi Delta, and Northern Border regions that will provide career, training, and support services to eligible individuals in counties and parishes and/or areas currently underserved by other resources. Grants will support workforce development activities that prepare dislocated workers, new entrants to the workforce, and incumbent workers for good jobs in high-demand occupations aligned with a regional or community economic development strategy. High demand industries include manufacturing, IT, healthcare, and energy.

Delta Regional Authority States Economic Development Assistance Program (SEDAP)
Grants to help Delta communities create jobs and improve infrastructure. Funds may be used for basic public infrastructure, transportation infrastructure, broadband, and business development including entrepreneurship and workforce training.

Delta Region Innovative Readiness Training Medical Missions Inactive
An opportunity to host a U.S. Department of Defense readiness training mission to bring medical, dental, and optical care to rural communities in the Delta Region.

Delta Leadership Institute Executive Academy Inactive
An educational opportunity that trains leaders from diverse backgrounds, sectors, and industries to improve the economic competitiveness and social viability of the Mississippi River Delta and Alabama Black Belt, with an emphasis on economic, public health, educational, and infrastructure challenges.

Delta Health Systems Implementation Program Inactive
Funding to improve healthcare delivery and healthcare access in rural areas of the Delta region. Projects should focus on financial and operational improvement, quality improvement, telehealth, and workforce development in hospitals.

Delta States Rural Development Network Grant Program Inactive

Funding to support the efforts of community-based organizations to improve water, sanitation and hygiene conditions and/or awareness of poor conditions in their respective communities. Priority will be given to specific communities, including rural and tribal areas.

Delta Region Rural Health Workforce Training Program Inactive
Grant to establish strategic networks to support healthcare facilities in the Delta region with recruitment, training, certification, and placement of professionals in critical administrative support occupations, including medical coding and billing, insurance claims processing, health information management, clinical documentation, business operations for healthcare organizations, and supply chain and materials management.
