Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students (SDS) Inactive
Funding designed to increase the health professions and nursing workforce by providing awards to eligible health professions schools for use in awarding scholarships to students from disadvantaged backgrounds who have a financial need. The program goal is to strengthen the health professions and nursing workforce by supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds who are more likely to practice in primary care and in rural and medically vulnerable communities.

Forgivable loans for Oklahoma students pursuing nursing degrees in return for agreeing to practice in Oklahoma upon graduation. Priority is placed on practicing in rural communities.

Nurse Faculty Loan Program (NFLP) Inactive
Funding for accredited schools of nursing to establish and/or operate a student loan fund. Grantees will loan money to students, and up to 85% of each loan may be forgiven upon completion of up to 4 years of full-time employment as a faculty member in an accredited school of nursing.

Nursing Workforce Development (NWD) Program Inactive
Funding to assist students from disadvantaged backgrounds in becoming nurses using evidence-based strategies to support nursing students from enrollment through graduation. The purpose is to expand and support a workforce to provide quality care to rural and other communities in need.

Hawaii Healthcare Education Loan Repayment Program (HELP) Inactive
Loan repayment assistance for certain healthcare professionals in Hawaii in return for at least 2 years of service in rural and other medically underserved areas of the state.

New Mexico Nurse Educator Loan-For-Service Program Inactive
Assistance for college and university employed nursing educators in New Mexico to obtain bachelor of science, master of science, and doctor of philosophy degrees. For every year of service provided, a portion of the loan will be forgiven. If the entire service agreement is fulfilled, 100% of the loan is eligible for forgiveness.
