Great Plains Center for Agricultural Health
A NIOSH Agricultural Safety and Health Center located at the University of Iowa College of Public Health focusing on prevention of agricultural injury and illness, and improvement of safety and health among agricultural communities through scientific research, education, outreach and intervention programs.
Great Plains Telehealth Resource and Assistance Center
One of the telehealth resource centers funded by the
federal Office for the Advancement of Telehealth. Assists
healthcare organizations, networks, and providers in the
implementation of cost-effective telehealth programs to
serve rural and medically underserved areas and
populations. Includes North Dakota, South Dakota,
Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Nebraska.
Helps families and communities in rural Iowa with their
housing needs by providing financial assistance through loan
programs for community revitalization, down payment
assistance, energy efficiency, geothermal, well, and septic
Iowa Academy of Family Physicians
Advocates on behalf of family physicians and the Iowa families they serve by supporting legislation that affects high quality healthcare. Awards scholarships for medical students and residents, and honors outstanding family physicians and educators by presenting annual membership awards.
Iowa Association of Rural Health Clinics
Focuses on shaping long term rural health policy to raise
awareness of policy makers about the issues facing Rural
Health Clinics (RHCs). Works to improve patient care and
optimize clinic operations. Provides leadership by
promoting, supporting, and developing quality healthcare
for underserved populations in Iowa.
Iowa Community Action Association
Advocates on behalf of individuals and families striving for economic security. Consists of locally-based, private, non-profit organizations that network with federal, state, and local resources to enhance the opportunities for low-income Iowa children and families to meet their basic needs and develop their skills and education.

Provides programs including mental health and disabilities, child support, child care, food assistance, health insurance for children, protective services, and medical assistance.

Represents Iowa hospitals and supports them in achieving their mission and goals. Focuses on health policy, healthcare delivery, data collection, and monitoring healthcare payment systems. Oversees the Iowa Rural Health Telecommunications Program.
Iowa Office of Public Transit
Housed within the Iowa Department of Transportation and
collaborates with the Iowa Transportation Coordination
Council to support state and local agency involvement in
passenger transportation. Works with the Iowa State Office
of Rural Health to connect rural health agencies and their
regional transit planning councils.
Iowa Primary Care Association
Provides technical assistance and training to Iowa's
community health centers (CHCs).
Supports quality and affordable primary healthcare to
low income and medically under-served communities in Iowa.
Iowa Public Health Association
Represents public health interests in Iowa including
chronic disease prevention, safety and injury prevention,
community water fluoridation, maternal and child health,
and nutrition and physical activity. Provides advocacy and

Iowa Rural Health Association
Serves as the voice for rural health in Iowa. Brings
attention to the issues affecting rural providers and helps
members address those issues by offering educational
opportunities, facilitating information sharing, and
engaging in advocacy activities.
Iowa Rural Healthcare Workforce Connection
Offers resources on recruitment and retention of the Iowa rural healthcare workforce for community leaders, educators, employers, healthcare professionals, and students. Supported by the Iowa Department of Public Health.
Iowa State Office of Rural Health and Primary Care
Helps rural communities and organizations build rural health infrastructure. Supports
health systems programming to enhance effectiveness and eliminate health disparities. Provides rural health advocacy and outreach, coordination of rural health resources, and consultation to healthcare communities and providers in rural Iowa.
North Central Regional Center for Rural Development
One of four regional rural development centers in the U.S.
that works with extension professionals, researchers, and
partners to enhance rural development outcomes. Serves a 12
state area in the North Central region which includes North
Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota, Iowa,
Missouri, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio.
University of Iowa Public Policy Center
Interdisciplinary academic research center that investigates a wide variety of public policy issues, including health policy and healthcare workforce. Publishes research with a national rural focus, as well as a state wide focus.
