Programs for Older Adults and Families

Programs for the elderly include a range of services that address the specific needs of elderly populations. These services may include home care, nutrition assistance, and transportation.

  • The HHS Administration for Community Living's Administration on Aging offers services and programs that are designed to help older adults live independently in their own homes and communities. The agency focuses on support and caregiver services, nutrition and health promotion programs, and protective services.
  • Locally-funded programs (e.g., Meals on Wheels) address the needs of older adults and their families. Many of these programs can be found through the Administration for Community Living's Eldercare Locator. This online, searchable directory helps individuals find public services for aging populations in their community.
