  • Program Overview: The Health Wagon's mission is to provide compassionate, quality medical care to the medically underserved. They do this by visiting sites in 11 counties in rural Southwest Virginia and delivering healthcare services through mobile health services clinic and two stationary clinics. The Health Wagon is a nurse managed clinic whereas clinical staff include Doctors of Nursing, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses. Their patients are low-income residents, many without health insurance. The Health Wagon offers free or low-cost healthcare that is geographically accessible to residents in their service area. Through telecommunications, they are able to provide clinical, educational, and specialty services to patients.
